Fire sprinkler

May 14, 2024

Fire sprinkler, usually refers to the fire sprinkler system, which is an automatic fire extinguishing system widely used in commercial, industrial and residential buildings. The fire sprinkler system consists of multiple parts, including sprinklers, pipes, water supply systems and control valves.

Working principle of fire sprinkler:

1. **Induction heat source**: When the ambient temperature rises to a certain level, the thermosensitive element (such as glass ball or fusible alloy) in the sprinkler will break or melt.

2. **Release seal**: After the thermosensitive element breaks, the spring sealed in the sprinkler will be released, causing the seal of the sprinkler to open.

3. **Water flow start**: After the seal is opened, water flows through the sprinkler and starts spraying.

4. **Water flow indicator**: When the water flows through the pipe, it triggers the water flow indicator, sends an alarm signal, and notifies the fire control center or security personnel.

5. **Fire extinguishing effect**: The water flow sprayed by the sprinkler can reduce the temperature of the fire source area and suppress the spread of the fire. At the same time, the water flow also helps to cool the surrounding environment and prevent the fire from expanding.

Types of fire sprinklers:

- **Standard sprinklers**: Suitable for general environments such as offices, shopping malls, etc.
- **Quick response sprinklers**: Shorter response time, suitable for high-risk areas such as kitchens, electronic equipment rooms, etc.
- **Special purpose sprinklers**: Such as dry sprinklers, wet sprinklers, pre-action sprinklers, etc., designed according to specific environments and needs.

Precautions for using fire sprinklers:

- **Regular inspection**: Regularly inspect the sprinkler and the entire sprinkler system to ensure that it is in good working condition.
- **Maintenance**: Perform maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, including cleaning, inspection and replacement of damaged parts.
- **Comply with regulations**: When installing and using fire sprinklers, local fire regulations and building codes should be followed.

Fire sprinklers are one of the important safety facilities in modern buildings. They can be quickly activated when a fire occurs, effectively control the fire, and protect the safety of people and property.
